Box desktop not updating on a Mac running Sequoia 15.2

Inviting External Collaborators to Folder resulting in 403 error

Hello - I have created a box folder for my client to upload files to. I invited them via email with the "Editor" permission so they can add their files. They received an email, however this is the result when they click the link: Any help in resolving this would be great!

Account upgraded but files still cannot be loaded

I upgraded my account last night to unlimited storage and am still getting an error when I try to load files. There is NO way to reach a support ticket or human at box to get help so I am going to either have to contest the charge on the CC OR receive a response from Box ASAP. Please helpASAP. Access external box - Update password

I was invited to an external box, however, to access the box I need to update my password. The problem is I'm registered and signed-in using Google single sign-on, so I dont have a current password. Any idea how I get around this.

Delay before newly created group can be found by name

Hi When I create a new group and try to find it immediatly afterwards through the groups/ endpoint with the name query param set it returns 0 results. But the same program, with 10-15 seconds sleep in between creation and requesting it will return the 1 result. Is this delay in the search mechanism of the groups endpoint something known?

How to edit Files as a JWT Authenticated User in browser?

Hello! Is there a way to edit files in browser as an app user (JWT user)? We're looking for an app user flow similar to a managed user opening a file in box and editing it in browser, such as opening and editing the file using Microsoft Word Online. Context for the curious - I'm working in a .NET application with version 3.9.3 of the SDK. I've created the user, and put them in a group that can see the file. When I use the user's token and call client.SearchManager.SearchAsync(FILE NAME), it returns the file. With the user's token, I've created SharedLinks for the file with an AccessType of open. When hitting the SharedLink URL in a chrome browser, I did not see any editing capability. If I was logged in to my own box account in a different browser tab, it appeared to pick up my personal user credentials and enable editing options. We tested out the Box Embed component on the same file, and did not see any edit capabilities. I have not tested out the other box UI elements, but I did not

Empty response with code 400 during file upload

Hi I'm trying for the first time to upload a file through the https://upload.box.com/api/2.0 /files/content endpoint and I receive the error code 400 but unlike other times that I've received this error code in other situations there is no detailed error description, the response body is empty. Wrong URLs in API reference

In the API Reference i often find wrong URLs: https://box-content.readme.io/reference#upload-a-file "http:// f https://upload.box.com/api/2.0/files/content" is given, but i think the part "http://f" has to be removed. Could also be found in the examples.

Attempting to update file info returns "invalid parameter" item error

Hi there When trying to move an item I send a request that updates the parent id of a file and it returns an error 404 with reason "invalid parameter" item. But there is no item parameter as far as I can see in the docs, it's also a value that I don't send: f_61412404350 which is the id of the file (a path parameter in this request) prefixed with f_. Coadmin able to delete user from UI. But API [Move Owned Items] -> 403 error, insufficient_permissio

My company has an enterprise account with Box. I am a co-admin and I am able to delete user from UI. Before deleting, I am able to transfer content also. But when I try to call the API [Move Owned Items], I get 403 error - insufficient permissions. The following application scopes are enabled - Read/write all folders, Manage users, Manage groups, Manage enterprise properties. Please suggest why the API is failing? Thanks so much.

Restricting JWT App to Certain Folders

Hello everyone. I'm developing a Box app, authenticated using JWT, that will need to be restricted to certain folders created by other federated users within our enterprise. When selecting the application scopes, I view that it has: "read/write all folders" and "read all folders". Does this mean that it has access to all user-created files and folders, or that it only has access to read/write all files and folders that it created? I understand that a service account is created with the box app, so, to restrict access, are we only required to add the service account as a collaborator to specific folders? Or, do read/write all folders mean I must pursue something further such as downscoping to achieve the goal that I want? App User- can I share data with regular users?

I'm hoping to build a small program to upload files to a folder. I need to allow collaborators to see the files and download them... even delete them, if necessary. The app will run unattended on a schedule, so I think App User using OAuth2 with JWT authentication would be correct. However, docs indicate that files created by this App User may not be accessible to others. Can I alter that? Change folder permissions and add Collaborators, for example? I'd like to know before going through all the work only to find out I'm at a dead end.

Accessing as User through JWT but not being able to access not-owned folders

Hi Everyone, I have a fairly easy task in my hands but i am having some trouble understanding the documentation as I am unable to do it. I have a process that needs to access a Box folder that I am a co-owner of and have been granted collaborative access and download a couple of files, this process is supposed to happen at early hours in the morning so it would be nice if no user interaction is needed. I have checked the forums and it seems that an App that logs through jwt is the recommended answer in similar cases. So I set up an application I create the Public and Private keys and I authorize it to act in behalf of the user (i.e. me). If I use the developer key everything works fine, I can download the files correctly but if I try to access with JWT it only lists the folders and files that I have create and thus I cannot access the proper folder. I am using the python SDK, but if I need to use the http API for it to work it is not a big deal. This is the code I have right now: from

Webhook v1 not working

I just created a webhook v1 notification for some events, and I'm not receiving any of these notifications. I follow these steps: - I checked the option "manage webhooks" - I have configured the webhook v1 with the options that I need to listen - The endpoint of notification is a public HTTP address Then, when I delete, modify or create a new file with my account (the same as dev account) at the web portal, no notification appears on my application. How do I get file ID after user upload the file via Box Upload Embed Widget

Is it possible to get file ID on the javascript client side after a user (non-logged in) uploaded their file with Upload Embed Widget (https://community.box.com/t5/Sharing-Content-with-Box/Box-Upload-Embed-Widget/ta-p/29008) If not, what alternatives are there? Webhook v2 - 403 Forbidden with Box CLI

I am trying to create a Webhook V2 associated to a folder with the Box CLI (Powershell) but I return this error: Unexpected API Response [403 Forbidden | wncdt6fz7hr7j3tk] access_denied_insufficient_permissions - Access denied - insufficient permission I follow these steps: 1. Create a Custom App with OAuth 2.0 with JWT Authentication 2. Set Enterprise as Application Access. 3. Enable/Check all Application Scopes options. 4. Activate Perform Actions As Users and Generate User Access Token at Advanced Features. 5. Generate a Public/Private Keypair and download the JSON to set in my Box CLI. 6. Authorize the custom application using the Client ID at Admin Console. 7. At Box CLI, create the environment with the JSON configuration downloaded at step 5. Set that environment as default. 8. Fail to search folder info on my box app through Python BoxSDK(JWTAuth) token
