I’m trying to download the files of the publicly shared KUL fall simulation dataset (Box), as I access the server I want to run my AI training on via ssh and of course don’t have a browser there. Also I’d like to avoid copying 20GB of videos via ssh or something. My app successfully authenticates and obtains the folder ID from the shared link using client.get_shared_item(shared_link), it returns “44028703597” as the folder ID. Then I call folder_items = client.folder(folder_id).get_items(), no problems here. Now when I try to iterate over that, I get an error message that the folder with the ID “d_44028703597” can’t be found, which is weird because in the same message I can see that the SDK calls GET https://api.box.com/2.0/folders/44028703597/items?offset=0, without the d_ prefix. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? My app has read permission, I can’t see anything else it might need to read public files.

Hi Team, I am working on an app integration to poll and parse Enterprise Event Stream API. I found the documentation for the list of events at the following link: https://developer.box.com/guides/events/enterprise-events/for-enterprise/#event-types 👍 Just wondering if there is documentation that explains the JSON response document for each event as it seems to vary a little based on event - example: CONTENT_ACCESS/LOCK/UNLOCK/EDIT has additional_details field. I have a custom app registered/authorized by our Box admin with a permission scope of App+Enterprise , the C# client is using the Client Credentials Grant authentication method. I can get users in our Enterprise with the GetEnterpriseUsersAsync() method with no issue. Hi, When I use the metadata-query command and try to add more options to query more data about the file creation date using the Fields option or the Extra-Fields option, no results show up, only file name and file id Here is the command box metadata-query enterprise_******.department 1736501103 --fields=created_at ----- File 1342427526557 ----- Type: file ID: ‘1342427526557’ Also need to know the list of options that I can use under Fields and Extra-Fields as the Box CLI is not showing any help or examples for it. Or does the contracted plan of the user of the app affect the API call limit?

For example, if there are 6 users on a Business plan, and each user makes 10,000 API calls, the total would exceed the 50,000 rate limit. Is this correct?

Hello! I created app as “OAuth 2.0 with Client Credentials Grant (Server Authentication)” and used below python code to get the access token and get a folder info. I am creating a Custom Portal ( Box Application ) using OAuth for authentication (NextAuth). The Box environment is configured with SSO via Azure. I’m seeking clarification if this is possible. I recall skimming through the developer site that this isn’t. I’m not able to find that reference.

Hello, I’m just getting started with Box CLI and need a way to batch remove hundreds of external users that have tens of thousands of collaborations within an enterprise. We can remove one at a time from the legacy admin dashboard, but I’d like to do this in batch via Box CLI, as advised by Box Support. I can’t find any documentation on external users specifically, only on the individual collaborations of managed users. Thoughts? -Vlad Weinstein

I have created application with Client Credentials Grant and when i am trying to use it with box_subject_type=user. i am getting “Grant credentials are invalid” error. I have checked client ID and client secret and user ID. Also I have checked App Access Only as i am trying with user subject type Note: I am using newly created free account without any subscription or trial

I’m trying to authenticate with OAuth 2.0 and I keep getting 401 unauthorized errors. I know for sure that I’m using my correct Client ID and Client Secret, so I’m not sure what’s going wrong.

As per Box documentation, the clearCache function of Content Explorer should force reload the items. But when I call the same function, I don’t see any reload of items in Content Explorer widget. I have a folder ID and I have a leaf name. What I want is the full file details. At the moment I list the folder and look for the leaf name. This works but for large folders is very slow and requires lots of API calls. Is there an API which takes as input a folder ID and a leaf name and returns a file info just for that file? The best I’ve seen is get-search but that has several problems - it does a recursive search when given folder IDs which I don’t want, and I want an exact match for the file name, not a fuzzy one (its still fuzzy if you use “double quotes”). Any ideas? BTW this is for rclone!

Hi, when creating group with this Box API: developer.box.com Create group - API Reference - Box Developer Documentation Explore the Box APIs and SDKs to use for app development, API documentation, developer support resources, and access the Box Developer Console There are 3 options to choose from for member_viewability_level: admins_only - the enterprise admin, co-admins, group’s group admin admins_and_members - all admins and group members all_managed_users - all managed users in the enterprise Also in admin UI there is Permission Setting on group page with also 3 options, but they don’t match. When creating group with API, this is how chosen options are reflected in UI: admins_only → Admins only admins_and_members → Admins only all_managed_users → Company But I can’t figure out they way to set Permission Setting to “Group members” no matter what options I pass through API, how can I do this?

Hi, I am attempting to integrate an application in box with IBM App connect designer. In app connect, I need to provide the following authentication data: Access token Refresh token Client ID Client Secret I have already found the client ID and client secret, however the only token I was able to find was called a developer token. Can anyone help me understand how I could aqcuire the access and refresh tokens for my application? kind regards

When I created Sign Request via WebUI, the created Sign Request successfully proceeded to In Progress status. Has there been any changes in the Box Sign API, or on its usage restriction for free Developer Accounts?

[First post – please bear with me.] Box recently sent me a notice about deprecating some SSL protocols. Legacy SSL Ciphers Deprecation The suggestion is to use “api-test(.)box(.)com” instead of the normal “api(.)box(.)com” to test whether you need to make security changes to your app. The problem I’m facing is I use the BOX SDK v.2 (with C#) which has “api(.)box(.)com” hardcoded in the library so I can’t change it to use the testing URL. [The (.) is to get around the new user 1 link only restrictions.] Any suggestions? Please let me know if you need more info. thanks, randy
